The LiveData initiative is an Arizona Board of Regents (ABOR)-funded series of activities intended to improve research data management within the three public universities in Arizona. This collaborative effort aims to produce shared infrastructure and functionality that will benefit all three institutions and provide a competitive advantage for researchers and faculty within the Arizona university system. Specifically, with our initial funding from ABOR, we committed to:
"Develop and link together searchable repositories of published and unpublished research data, scholarship, and creative contributions. As part of this initiative, the three universities will collaborate on developing software and shared digital and archival procedures to ensure that research data from the three Arizona universities is thoroughly described, made publicly accessible (in a timely fashion), and preserved to allow long-term reuse."
This first phase of the initiative is this Research Arizona web portal (ResearchAZ.org). This portal is a “shop window” for our research activities and provides a consolidated point of access for research and scholarly outputs. This site not only provides access to searchable metadata, but presents visitors with an overview of the latest research developments at our institutions. ResearchAZ is intended to market our research efforts as well as being a source of information for businesses, the media and other researchers.
